Wix Moves Ahead with HTML5 Websites: over 1 Million Users to Date

WixAlmost 4 years ago I build my  first website for my own business on the Wix Flash platform. It took a while, but I got it exactly the way I wanted it.  I chose this platform because I realized right away that by using one of the templates and customizing it for my business, I could have a very appealing site without having to  learn any code or some leaning intensive programs like Dreamweaver.

After mastering the templates, I incorporated Wix into my own  business packages that I offered to my clients. I build dozens of sites and taught even the most computer challenged individuals how to update and maintain their own Wix-built website.

As mobile devices became more and popular and not exactly Flash friendly, I was hoping Wix would come to terms with the new technology for it’s clients or I feared it would die a very slow death. Realizing mobile devices would eventually rule the world I sadly had to stop recommending Wix flased- based websites to my clients.

So I was very pleased to see that last March the company unveiled its HTML5 beta templates. Now only 4 months later they a have hit the 1 million user mark, pretty impressive. Today I will be giving them their 1,00,001 customer as I confidently open an account for my new client, an artist who loved one of the new artistic  HTML5 templates.

I am happy to have my old friend back.
